I’ve been reading a lot about chakra healing and chakra meditation recently, and it looks very interesting. There’s so much to learn and share, so I thought it would be best to do this in three parts over three Spiritual Sundays.

The word chakra is derived from a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel.” There are seven main chakras in our body, starting from the root chakra, going up to the crown chakra.

A misalignment or blockage of any of these chakras can:

…slow down the Chi, the life force, and the spiritual connection. You may feel depressed, out of touch, like you lost something, tired, unable to clearly think, or listless. You may get angry for no reason, be afraid, be unsure of yourself, lack self-confidence, be unhappy without a direct understood reason, and have a general negative outlook on life. All of these are indications that you have a problem to resolve that is chakra based. – Spiritual network

Each of the seven main chakra centers is inter-connected on several different levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Each of these centers also governs a main organ or gland. In addition,

The seven main chakra centers are aligned along the spinal column. If there are disturbances on any level, this shows in the chakra’s vitality level. Also each of the seven main chakras is their own intelligence center. This means that each chakra is not only associated with our physical health but also controls aspects connected to our emotional, mental and belief system. When one part of a chakra center is out of sync it may eventually effect its other parts and possibly its neighboring chakra. When a chakra center is out of balance it generally means that it is over-active or under-active, or possibly congested or blocked. If this happens it is usually felt on a mental, emotional or physical level. – Chakraenergy.com

Next week, we’ll explore the seven main chakras in further detail and do a chakra meditation.

Hope you enjoyed this information on chakras. Do let me know if you’d like more information on any aspect of chakra healing or meditation, I’ll try to help out as best as I can.

  1. Well, I am not very sure if I enjoyed reading it or not – but, I did learn a thing or two. And by the way, my chakras are not well balanced or this is what I could figure out from my chakra tests? I am sure I can improve.

Keep this spiritual thing posted up. 🙂
