The Mindful Break 2016

I need to slow down. Things have been happening at break-neck speed recently, and October is shaping up to be worse. It’s a very busy period for me at work, and to add to that, it’s also the season for the biggest festival in India – Diwali.

In the middle of all this craziness, though, it’s easy to get stressed out and overwhelmed. And so, I need a bit of a daily break. A reminder to myself to just breathe.

Which gave me the idea of a 15 day {because that’s all that seems doable to me this month} photography challenge – The Mindful Break. It’s just a simple reminder to be in the moment, a gentle pause in the middle of all the frenetic activity.

And I’d love for YOU to join me on this challenge.

The “rules” are super simple.

Post 1 photo a day {or more if you wish!} on Instagram using #TheMindfulBreak hashtag.

Take a look at the activity in the hashtag to chat with new peeps and find some interesting new Instagrammers to follow.

Add a link to your main blog page – NOT to individual posts or it will get too  unmanageable – so we can find new peeps to interact with and follow.

You don’t have to be a blogger to participate. Just share your photos on Instagram using #TheMindfulBreak hashtag and have fun! {Oh, and make sure your Instagram account is not set to private, or we won’t be able to find you!}

The challenge runs on Instagram from 10 to 25 October.

I will also create a free ebook with my photographs from the challenge. I’ll briefly introduce you to Mindfulness, share some ways in which you can practice it in your daily life, and include some thoughts and quotes on Mindfulness.   1. This is such a wonderful way to actually make one be mindful which is really needed in this say and age of super connectedness. I’ll try and see if I can join too because just like you , I have a packed October ahead 🙂

    • Mindfulness is really simple, if only we stop to remember! So the idea – we always carry our phones around with us. Remember to be mindful. Click a photo. Instagram! It doesn’t have to be fancy either. I do hope you join!
