With love, from Instagram!

Hello there!

I thought it would be fun to pop in today with some Instagram love! I love sharing snippets from my art, life, books, and more on there. It’s visual, instant, and so much fun!

Like the time when I got my hands on the gorgeous Kuan Yin oracle deck – the artwork is scrumptious and the messages are deep and beautiful – I just had to share immediately!

And I’ve recently started posting behind the scenes shots of in-progress art journal or canvas pieces. All paintings go through ugly middle phases and stages of indecision, and I think it’s so important to share those. Because when all that we see are gorgeous finished paintings, we think there’s no way we can do anything like it! But sharing the journey and the apprehensions just shows that we are all in this together. Even the best artists out there have paintings they hate, and paintings where they don’t know what the hell to do next. But by persevering, they come up with something – always {almost}! And then sometimes I post goofy photographs of my darling fur babies and their crazy antics!

  1. I love posts that give us a sneak peek into someone else’s world. Instagram is that for me: a picture with a story. Can’t get more visual than that. And your fur babies are adorable! Oh and I love Lao Tzu. Love, love, love 🙂

    • Yes, you hit the hammer on the nail! Little peeks into other people’s world, their loves, the moments they capture and share. That’s what makes Instagram so interesting! And now I’m wondering – is that last bit a clue? 😉

  4. Very interesting post, Shinjini. Getting a sneek peek into your world through your insta pics is another way of getting to know you better. I’d love to see that painting once it is completed. The little furry babies are simply too cute !!

    • Glad you enjoyed it! I love Instagram is for the glimpses it gives me into another person’s life. I’ve included a link to the finished painting in the post – it’s up on the blog already 😉

  6. I like your art-in-the-making pictures, MG, and also your fur babies! They do have that royal look about them! I share my art after I complete it; I can’t wait till I complete my work and see for myself how it has turned out!
    And, I agree, Instagram is like a blessing in disguise for people like us who love sharing leaflets from the book of their life with the world!

    • Thanks Shilpa! I tend to take a long time to complete my pieces, and I like looking at the photos to see if anything looks off. So often I’ve thought a piece is done, only to realize that they eyes are squinty or the shading is slightly off! I love how you phrased that – leaflets from the book of life! 🙂

  13. I loved the picture of your furry friends. Interesting names too. The artwork on the cards are have such mystical air to them. Good to see such visual treats on a blog. Instagram integrated with blogging is fun!

  15. Wow! This is one interesting post with all the beautiful visuals from your lovely instagram wall collated together in such a brilliant manner. BTW did I read ugly (just above the canvas picture para) Because I don’t think so that it’s true at all. Like am really serious! An artistic piece holds its beauty throughout all phases of making and the artist like you can never make it ugly in any phase (not even in early or middle phase) 😀
