I’m doing it again – participating in the Blogging From A To Z Challenge, that is! Last year’s experience was exhilarating, and I’m eager to do take it up again this year.
All through the month of April, I’m going to introduce you to the tools, mediums and supplies that are the staples of an art journaling artist, as well as introduce you to some styles and techniques that you can incorporate into your work.
Here’s what you can look forward to next month:
A run-down of the basic tools that you need in your toolbox – paper, brushes, scrapers, found objects and the like.
A close look at the supplies (geared towards art journaling) that you need in your studio, as well as an introduction to various acrylic mediums. This will be invaluable for anyone wanting to start an art journal and wondering what materials they would need to get started.
An introduction to various art movements and techniques that will help you to get started on your artist’s journey.
I do hope you will join me on this month-long journey, and that it will inspire you to pick up paints and paper and dive into this exciting hobby!
All the best
Thanks Mahek!
This is refreshingly different! I am so looking forward to reading your posts, Jini. Taking a sneak peak to your toolbox would be fun 🙂 Happy A to Z!
Sawasdee Thailand at Kohl Eyed Me
Indian Dishes at Something’s Cooking
I’m looking forward to this too – though I’m just realizing the magnitude of the task that I have undertaken!
May I give you a Hug? This is fantastic! I really had my fingers crossed you would pick an art-related theme! I am so so glad you have, and that too something from which we can learn (confession: I am an Artist at Heart – but in real life, I am artistically challenged!)
Awww….hugs!! I really hope you find these posts helpful. There’s so much information and fun stuff to share that I’m thinking of eventually creating an expanded ebook version – all of that information just isn’t going to make it on to the blog! Anyway, I do hope you enjoy the posts. And that it helps you to get started on your artistic journey!
Fabulous 🙂 I look forward to the posts and the e-book I signed up for the last years ebook too.. I love your art 🙂
Thank you so much!! This made my day. 🙂
Awesome I love art journalling so truly looking forward to your posts.
Awesome! I hope you find them interesting and that they give you some new information 🙂
All the best. Looking forward. 🙂
Thank you!!
I’ll be making notes all along MG , even if I don’t end up picking paints and creating magical artworks by the end of the challenge .. I ‘ll for sure be picking up pointers on how to extend one’s personal brand across almost everything we do ..Last year I was really keen to create a ‘digital identity’ , this challenge is a strong step forward for you to do build on that for yourself and as always , I am rooting for you!
Aww Chandni, you know how much I love your support, encouragement and guidance. I will also be rooting for you, as you make your mark in your passion area!
Oh wow…sounds inspiring as a theme! I can’t draw or paint to save my life but I’m in awe of those who can. My sister is the artist in the family. Good luck in April!
Sanch @ Sanch Writes
Thank you so much Sanchie! I used to be in your camp, believe it or not. I couldn’t even draw stick figures to save my life. Which is why I say, if I can do it, anyone else can. 🙂
Hello MG! I’m happy to read of your A2Z theme, as I began an art sketch journal just for this challenge. My artist ability is limited but for years I kept saying I really need to get back in the groove to drawing. I love creating whether it’s in the kitchen, behind the camera, or with an ink pad and rubberstamp! I always admire gifted artist and what they can do with a pencil or brush. I will definitely bookmark your site to find inspiration and I learn from you! I invite you to visit Curious as a Cathy to read my theme reveal post!
Hey Cathy! I hope you enjoy these 26 posts and that they inspire you to pick up paper and pencils and paint and draw and create more art!
Now this is new to me and I’m really keen on learning it!
Looking forward to it 🙂
All the best!
Cheers

Wow! Last year, all I remember doing was looking at the awesome pics you posted of your artwork, and dreaming that one day, I’d be able to do so too! I hope this year something changes, and the awesomeness of art starts flowing through my veins 😀
All the best dear! Looking forward to your posts ❤
I’m artistic person and love to do different style paintings
Indeed The Profound theme.
Excited and get to learn and discover a lot about it during this period. Thanks for sharing & best wishes for A to Z challenge 2017 Get Fit and Healthy with 26 Healthy living days
Wonderful! I hope you enjoy the posts!!
Sounds like a great theme! I can’t draw or paint; maybe (hopefully) I’ll learn a thing or two? 😀
I sure hope you are inspired to pick up paper and paints and just start painting! 😀
Jini I am sure this is going to be the perfect precursor book to your last ebook on art journaling! Supplies are such a crucial part in any form of art. With the right supplies and technique even non-artists can create good works of art. I’ll be following you through April for sure. Cheers!
Thanks Kala! That’s the hope, combined these 2 topics should be an excellent foundation to start art journaling.
Excellent idea! I’ll have to forward these to my artistically inclined kidlets (who are mostly adultlets now – LOL) and hubby, so they can be inspired by your journey as well. 🙂
Great! I hope they enjoy the ride!! 🙂
Looking forward to this. 🙂 I remember last year’s challenge and it was fun.
It was fun, indeed!
I am already looking forward to it Jini. I love painting but with so many things it has taken a back seat somewhere. My teenager is an artist too and loves to paint. Will share your posts with her. 🙂
I hope you can start painting soon Deepa and that your kiddo enjoys these posts. 🙂
I see another amazing ebook here. I’m sure you will rock this theme Jini 🙂 All the best.
Oh yes, there’s definitely an ebook here! 😉 Thanks Reema!
This is absolutely what I need because I am thinking of doing some water brush fonts – and currently am in search of good water brush pens. I am hoping to get a peek into a lot of tools here Jini. All the best.
Water brush fonts? I’d love to see them! And yes, there will be tons of tools and supplies and a whole lot more, so watch this space!
Looking forward to learning more about art. One day, I hope to expand my art talents beyond adult coloring books.

That they are! I hope it will be fun and informative, both. 🙂
Wow! I was actually looking up for some info on art journaling on Youtube. I’m glad you’ve selected this theme. This should help me. 🙂
Oh yes! Combine these with my Art Journaling 101 ebook and you should have tons of information at your fingertips.
Nice theme. I would love to know more about brush pens and technical pens used for sketching if possible ☺️ although i guess u would have sorted out with topics and may be even posts itself.
All the best
Yup, posts and topics are sorted already. You’ll have to wait and see if either of these made it to the list 😉
This year, not just me , but my artist sister will be following you as well! Looking forward to this colourful journey together!!!
