Tarot forecast for 2017 + a giveaway!

Yearly Tarot Reading 2017

Can you believe we are in the last month of 2016 already? How this year has flown! We’ve had our ups and downs; wins and losses; lessons, heartbreak and learning. And we are fast approaching a brand new year!

While it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and frenzy of the festive season, I like to slow down and savor December – to reflect on the past year and dream about the new year. For me, that includes a lot of journaling and planning {and I’m going to have something exciting for you on that front next week!} and, of course, the Tarot!

I’ve been doing this particular Tarot reading for myself and some friends since a couple of years – around the New Year and also on my birthday! The year ahead reading offers a beautiful, in-depth, layered look at any yearly cycle.

This year, I thought I’d do a general Tarot forecast for 2017 for my lovely peeps {yes, you!}. So let’s dive into it, shall we?

Tarot forecast for 2017

Tarot forecast for 2017

Remember, this is a general reading, and my intention with this one was: What do my blog readers need to know most for the next year.

Make sure you read through to the end to find out how you can enter into a giveaway for a personalized Tarot forecast for 2017 worth INR 1,100! AND I’m offering a limited number of these for purchase – all the details are at the end of the post.

Looking at the overall spread, there seem to be a lot of life lessons for us to learn in the next year, which makes sense given that it is an energetic reading for the entire year. The progression and flow of the cards is also very interesting, with a healthy mix of heavier lessons and lighter ones.

Last year it seems like that was a lot of betrayal, heartbreak, and anger (3 of Swords). There could have people who back stabbed you or broke your trust, which had a huge impact on you. It could have made you question your judgement, maybe it led to you rethinking your entire approach to people. It’s time now to learn the lesson from those experiences, forgive and move on. Leave that hurt, anger and resentment in the past. Don’t carry it into the new year. Don’t let it keep you bitter, either.

What you’re being asked to move and open up to in the new year is the energy of the Queen of Swords. She represents all the positive energy of the air element – the intellect and logic – with the inward focus of a Queen. So instead of letting the past hurt and betrayal embitter you, open up to learning the lessons and being aware of exactly what is happening around you. Use the power of your mind and intelligence to assess situations honestly. Be straightforward and to the point. Don’t play the fool or be led around my your emotions alone. At the same time, be honest and transparent in your dealings, and take a more calm and controlled approach to dealing with the things that come up through the year.

Even as you use the power of your intellect to deal with situations, you need to learn the art of letting go, going with the flow, and seeing how things unfold without judgement and attachment, just like The Hanged Man. Although he is hanging upside down from a tree, with his hands tied behind him, his face and demeanor is calm and composed. Equally, it represents an opportunity to take a pause from the constant grind and hustle to just listen to what you want – your own dreams and aspirations rather than the shiny dreams that are constantly being sold to you via the media and even sometimes your peers. The Hanged Man brings you the opportunity to learn the true power that lies in bucking the trend, letting go, and trusting in the Universe.

Which is why it makes perfect sense that your major challenge for the new year is The Devil. This card represents our ego and fears; being caught up in unhealthy and unproductive situations; being ignorant or in the dark about something. Yet, if you look closely at the man and woman, you’ll notice that the chains around them are very lose – they can undo them and walk away at any point. Waking up to this energy and realizing its impact on your life could be the major challenge for you this year.

So it’s no wonder that you really don’t want to spend much time alone with yourself (The Hermit). With the pull between letting go and wanting to hold on, solitude is the last thing you would want. You’d want to be out there getting more information and learning more and more about whatever it is that is coming up for you. Yet, would that really be wise? It could also indicate a period of study and associated  concerns around that – not finding enough time to study, fears around doing well in exams, etc. It could also simply point to times when you just need to be alone, but don’t know how to pull it off due to logistical or other reasons.

But the King of Pentacles brings you wise counsel – to be enterprising and focused on what you want. He represents the best of the earth energy – practicality and material concerns – of the Pentacles suit with the outward focus of a king. The King of Pentacles is confident of his position and knows that he has the power to make his dreams come true. So this is all about knowing that you have the wisdom and the means to make the most of things, to find the best opportunities to fulfill your desires, and that you can succeed at whatever you set your mind to – and then, of course, acting on it!

All of which leads up to the key theme of the year – The Fool – a new beginning! You’re embarking on an exciting new journey, a brand new adventure. Perhaps there are new ideas or ventures that you are already thinking about. Perhaps there will be a lot of new and unexpected things that will come up for you during the year. The key is to be ready for a bold new adventure without overthinking and over analyzing – no analysis paralysis! Go off on a sparkly new adventure, trusting the universe and knowing you have the resources within you to make all your dreams a success (and also to change direction if you need to). Onwards!

  1. I was thinking and have come to realise that the read thread that connects us, is so strong. Such an accurate general reading. I really want the personalised one now. Jini lots of love and good luck for the giveaway.

  2. I never thought the readings would be so precise. Each card was thrown at me such that I could connect with so many things that has happened or should happen in my life. I was planning a lot for the coming year, which includes focusing on me and taking my food blog to a professional level. I was confused whether I could do it all by myself. But this sure came as a boost to me. Thanks for this Jini <3
I follow you on all the mentioned social media accounts and I would love to get the personalized reading. Good luck to all that you do 🙂

    • I’m so glad that you found this helpful Shalini. I wish you all the very best with your food blog – I’m sure you can take it to greater heights!

  3. I had a deja vu moment…I actually felt like I was reading Marjorie Orre…she was one writer whose predictions I used to read and follow to the T. Her accuracy was amazing.
Today I felt the same twang in my heart when I read your posts. Truly, you are a gifted person. I simply loved the post. Had to read it twice to relate it to my life.
Also, I have done each of the things you mentioned above. It will be an honour to receive the reading from you…

  4. I have already become a fan of yours and being a closet Tarrot Card reading fan . I have already following you on Insta, Twitter, Facebook . Do I need to say that I would love to get a personalized reading too? Yes the readings are inspirational and I am looking forward to 2017

  5. This was spot on, quite spooky even. Lots of new adventures perculating for this year and lots ready to be left behind.Thank you for the opportunity to win a personalized reading! I also added you on instagram, which is great because I am contemplating a year of no facebook to see what I could accomplish.

  6. What an accurate reading. Infact before your post, i had already told myself that the only way forward is by going forth not dwelling on the past or dissecting what could have been.
I also feel that the year ahead will be more fulfilling and rewarding than the one past ….
I look forward to reading more of your posts in the coming year.
    Good luck and God Bless

  7. Anger , resentment , backstabbing are words picked up from my life last year . Even though I had a great year personally , I feel the masks came off from certain people and there were disappointments . It took me a while to self heal and now am controlled and calm because I see myself as the queen of sword . Your reading seemed to be customised for me and for so many people who wanted Hillary to win or were shocked at the demonisation move 🙂 . Would love to know if the year ahead would be an year of me ?
I am following you everywhere !! And you know it right ?

  8. I wish new year brings in happiness for all. I like the way you have explained everything Jini…thanks so much. There are messages for us whether applicable or not we can learn from it.

  9. Thank you. My year was dominated by 3 of Swords. 2017 wont be easy in terms of the resolve, that I need to make and of course live through, but then as you said, the bondages can be easily entangled. The journey to embark as a Fool is tough, but I will for sure. Thank you once again.

  10. First time here. A lot of the reading seemed like it was directed at me. Especially, the queen of swords, the Hermit and the king of pentacles. Hope I’m bold and adventurous enough to embark on the journey the Fool suggest. Thanks for this, Jini.. I’m late for the contest but I wish you luck in your journey 🙂

    • I’m glad you found that the reading resonated for you Uma! And you’re free to book a reading anytime you want one. 🙂
