On my art table: What are you growing today?

Thoughts become things

I believe that what we focus on, grows. Where we focus our time and energy determines what shows up in our lives. The more we think about a particular thing, the more laser focused our energy and time and effort is on a particular endeavor, the higher the chances that it will manifest in our lives.

Go back and read that last line again – manifestation is not about thinking and imagining. It is about alchemizing that thinking and imagining with action and effort. When you combine all of these ingredients – boom! magic happens.

How long it will take depends on a lot of other factors that may not all be in your control. But the outcome almost always follows intention + action.

And so I ask:

What are you growing today?

What dreams are you nurturing? What bold, audacious hopes are filling your thoughts? What inspired action are you taking?

As for me, I’ve opened the doors to Tarot Fundamentals – a Tarot ecourse designed to help complete beginners take their first steps on their Tarot journey. Almost a year went into planning the course, deciding how much to include to make it helpful without making it too overwhelming. It’s almost like having me across the table to answer your Tarot questions:

How old is the Tarot?

How does the Tarot work?

How do I start to read the cards?

These are a few of the key takeaways of this course. I hope you will take a peek at the course page, and I would love to help you take your first steps into the world of Tarot!

Before you go, tell me this: What are you growing today?

  1. Completely agree with your theory, ‘ intention + action’ leads to outcomes. Lot of profound lines in this post to savour. All the best with the tarot course. Looks intriguing!!

  2. Hey, this is amazing. I don’t think I have the gift to actually understand it but can you connect for online tarot reading. There is something I would like to be guided about.

  3. I think you read my mind. I just realised today that my focussing on a particular irritant only made it grow. SO I decided to stop thinking about it. I am hoping it will stop impacting my life soon.

I love the idea of an etarot course. I have always been interested in tarot and would gladly have signed up but I know that I don’t really have the time to do so…. Will keep this in mind for a more relaxed time in my life when I can indulge in my interests. Congratulations and wish you luck with this new venture

    • Oh yes – no point focusing on irritants! It just keeps you stuck and frustrated, which is no fun!

You know, I think there is no such thing as the perfect time to do something. If Tarot (or anything else for that matter) really interests you, start learning now! You can always devote more time later. But unless you start, you will never learn – at least that has been my experience. Anyway, you can sign up whenever you wish to; I’d love to help you learn how to read the Tarot! 🙂

  4. I’ve always wanted to know more about tarot card reading. Didn’t know a person so knowledgeable about it was right here until we were clubbed together for the Write Tribe Challenge. I wish you all the best.

You asked what we were growing today. I am a surgeon who is very interested in writing. Till this challenge came along I had neglected my writing thanks to hectic life. I always wanted to write a book and finally I managed to put a few paragraphs together to begin it. There’s still a long way to go but I hope I can complete it

    • Well then, this course is perfect for you! You’ll get a thorough introduction to Tarot cards and learn how to start using them for yourself too. 😉

Wish you all the very best with your dream, Ryan. Being a surgeon, I’m guessing you don’t have much time to devote to your dream. But all the minutes that you can spare count. Wish you all the very best, and I hope there will be a novel out soon!

  5. Thanks for this profound reminder, Shinjini. Our thoughts are indeed a reflection of what translates into our reality. About time I start growing something productive!

  6. That was a very powerful thought Shinjini and I firmly believe in it- I have personally seen what effective thinking and being focussed on a goal can do. For me its to make the most of my trip personally and professionally. To venture into unchartered territories and create new expereinces

  7. if there is one thing that I am growing now is my thoughts towards positivity. My free tarot card reading which I got at the beginnig of the year is still pending and I need too much positivity around.

  8. it is so true what you say here. I have to spend some time reflecting on this and thinking about what it is I want to manifest. So exciting about your course good luck lovely I am sure it will be a wonderful success #mg

  9. This reminds me of a conversation i had with my nephew a few months ago. He asked me why I was writing and posting on my blogs. He wanted to know if I thought I would earn a lot of money from it. I told him that these were just the seeds that I was planting for the future when I would write bestsellers.

  10. All the best with your course. I also got my first Tarot deck 20 years ago. It was a present from my daughter for my birthday. Right now my thoughts are focussed on arts and crafts.

  11. I’ve never had a tarot reading but the cards utterly fascinate me! As I delve deeper into my spiritual journey, I am more and more in awe of it! I’m very slowly growing my applied knowledge of astrology. #mg
