July 2019: Tarot spread for the full moon in Capricorn

full moon in Capricorn July 2019

The July 2019 full moon falls in the sign of Capricorn. Symbolized by the  mountain goat, which maintains perfect balance while it climbs over precarious rock ledges, the Capricorn archetype is one of disciplined and dogged determination towards the attainment of our worldly desires.

Spiritually, the Capricorn archetype teaches us about integrity and helps us to harness the ability to plan our work, and stick to it, no matter what. In these times of 24×7 consumption culture, it’s easy to be addicted with shiny object syndrome and forget about our goals and plans. Capricorn teaches us about the meaning of integrity: to align ourselves with our highest ideals and actualize our potential.

The July 2019 full moon also highlights our shadows – all the traits we have hidden away and ignored, be they so-called negative emotions like anger, grief, and hate; or our strengths, which we refuse to acknowledge. This is the time to examine all the ways in which you hold yourself back from achieving your full potential.

Astro-tarot influences for the July 2019 full moon

To throw some more light on the July 2019 full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Capricorn full moon falls in decan 3, which is represented by the 4 of Pentacles. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with The Devil, which is associated with Capricorn.

The 4 of Pentacles is the card of the miser. The one who holds on to his/her resources tightly. This often indicates a lack mentality and money mindset related issues. The Devil is a card of illusions and typically negative attachments. Of feeling trapped in negative cycles of behaviour without realising that it is in our power to break free of them.

This, then, this speaks very clearly of examining and changing our money mindset. The July 2019 full moon illuminates our material stories; our stories of lack or fears of not having enough. It asks us to sit down and be honest with how much we allow ourselves to receive.

Partial lunar eclipse in Capricorn

The July 2019 partial lunar eclipse makes this an even more potent time to purge and release the things that no longer serve us. We may also feel all the feels during this time. Instead of fighting your emotions though, just sit down quietly and listen to what is arising. If you need to cry, cry; allow your tears to cleanse away all the emotional blockages.

Working with the moon

The full moon is a time of completion. The intentions that you set at the new moon are ready to be birthed into the world. The full moon illuminates the fruits of the work you’ve done towards achieving your new moon intention and to make any tweaks as necessary. This is a good time to release any negative emotions, habits, thoughts, beliefs and to look within and shift any blocks and old patterns that don’t serve you any more.

I tap into the energy of the full moon to call in and celebrate the sign’s qualities in myself; to release any related limiting beliefs; and to express gratitude for whatever is coming up.

  1. Looking into the ‘money’ and financial planning is important. In my case, more than the actual money, it is my approach towards the term money which needs to be considered. I will do journalling about it.
