Plus an astrology and tarot forecast, and Womanrunes reading for the Leo full moon. And a bonus tarot spread for Neptune’s transit in Aries!

The February 2026 full moon falls in the sign of Leo. The bold and dynamic Leo archetype infuses us with a passionate zest for living. It is the archetype of the fiery creative who is confident and unafraid to stand in the spotlight. But this infectious dynamic can also succumb to its shadow aspects of overbearing pride, drama and arrogance.
Spiritually, the Leo archetype teaches the principle of creative manifestation. Clarity of thought and focused energy, which points to the spiritual principle that your beliefs about life tend to shape your life. You can see this spiritual principle at play with a regular gratitude practice. When you cultivate an active gratitude practice, you tend to experience a shift in your life and circumstances. And while your life may not change dramatically, your outlook to life can certainly shift.
This full moon has a transformative energy. It can unlock a moment of sudden clarity, one that shifts our perspective, releases an old block, or helps us break a repetitive pattern. This Leo moon casts a light on the ways in which we hold and surrender our personal power, and asks us to take a close look at the ways in which fear makes us either cling to control or to give it away. The invitation here is to step into a more grounded sense of personal authority.
Astrology and tarot influences for the February 2026 full moon in Leo
To throw some more light on the astrology of this full moon, let’s take a look at the astrology and tarot influences of this lunation. The Leo full moon falls in decan 2, which is represented by the 6 of Wands. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with Strength, which is associated with Leo.

There’s some big, creative energy around this full moon, along with some rather potent astrology. You’ve probably read about the biggest one already — the once in 165 year transit of Neptune as it enters Aries.
The last time Neptune was in Aries was from 1861 to 1875, a period during which the world was undergoing massive upheaval and reinvention. During this time, we saw the Indian sepoy mutiny, a civil war in the US, and the emergence of the Ku Klux Klan. There were also a number of radical creative breakthroughs during this time, with early motion picture technology, the invention of the prototype for the modern typewriter, and the rise of Impressionism.
Now, as Neptune moves into Aries, it demands action, autonomy, and personal agency.
Collectively, this can look like a resurgence in front-line organizing and activism rather than online virtue signaling; intense clashes between different belief systems; and a rejection of institutions that no longer feel trustworthy.
Creatively, it can spark movements that prioritize authenticity over perfection. The current analogue life trend is one early example of such a movement.
On an individual level, this transit is all about regaining personal sovereignty, heightened discernment and re-aligning with your purpose. You may experience a loss of faith in long-held beliefs or even disillusionment with the ideas that you once identified with. This in-between place — where old certainties dissolve before new ones fully take shape — can feel destabilizing. But it’s important to remember that Neptune moves slowly. Over the course of this 14-year transit, clarity is likely to emerge in time. This transit can also highlight increased individualism, heightened competition and intense ambition.
This Leo full moon signals a shift in identity and new beginnings. The lunar cycle that follows this one kicks off eclipse season, which means this full moon is likely to bring forth some powerful insights and inspiration.
With Neptune active during this lunation, you can expect intuitive insights, sudden shifts in perspective, or an intensified burst of creative energy.
This full moon is also opposite Venus, Mars, Mercury, and Pluto, highlighting desire, anger, communication, and control. You may notice where you’ve negotiated your truth for harmony, reacted instead of maintaining your cool, or over-explained or over-analyzed something. The energies at this time are rather chaotic, so grounding, mindfulness, and deep breathing may help you be less reactive.
There’s a deeper current here around visibility. Leo likes being in the spotlight, while Pluto reminds us why that hasn’t always felt safe. Old instincts around self-protection, power, or withdrawal may surface at this time. But what matters most is your willingness to stand in your own light without twisting yourself out of shape to conform or be accepted. Sometimes that is the most radical form of self-expression there is.

This is such a perfect rune for this full moon in Leo! The Witches’ Hat is the rune of creation — of naming and claiming and owning and doing. It’s the rune of showing up and taking action. Of enchanting the everyday — which is even more urgent in times of turmoil and change like these.
It’s easy to give in to disillusionment and hopelessness when injustice seems to rise and the world appears to have tilted on its axis. But this rune reminds us of our inherent magic and power, of the enchantment and wonder that is still alive and thrumming in the world.
Our ancestors lived through often turbulent times. Yet they sang and danced and told stories and lived full lives. Their resilience lives on in our bones, in our DNA, in our magic.
So what magic will you draw on today? How will you enchant the ordinary? How will you step forward in your power? How will you live up to your values? What action will you take?
I also want to say this: Not all of us are called to be activists, so this isn’t really about activism per se. But we can all spread kindness and joy and peace into the world. So consider how you can do that. It could be by paying it forward, by showing up for neighbors or your community, by spreading beauty in the world with your art…More of that, please!
The Womanrunes were created by Shekhinah Mountainwater in 1987. There were originally no written interpretations available for these runes, other than the name and one word meanings, which offer tremendous scope for personal interpretation. The remastered original hand drawn Womanrunes can be purchased here. Molly Remer subsequently wrote Womanrunes: A Guide to Their Use and Interpretation, based on her own meditations and interpretations of the runes. Her book is available on Amazon and Etsy.
