Plus an astrology and tarot forecast, journal prompts, and Womanrunes reading for the Libra full moon.

The April 2026 full moon falls in the sign of Libra. The Libra archetype is closely associated with justice and maintaining balance in social interactions and within the self. They are the true diplomats among the zodiac archetypes, and focus on fair dealings in all their relationships.
Spiritually, the Libra archetype teaches the principle of intimate balance, of the ability to remain centered and true to yourself no matter what may be going on around you. This is a skill that can be particularly helpful for those of us who turn up our noses at societal expectations as we dance to the tune of our own drum beat. Being able to remain centered is also an important skill to have if you’re surrounded by toxic people — and in these times, even toxic politics! One of the easiest ways to remain centered is through the breath, and by being able to distinguish between the things that are in your control, and those that aren’t.
This full moon also highlights our work life, daily schedules, and wellbeing. If you’re currently working, especially in a job or providing a service of some kind, take a moment to reflect on how you are feeling with regards to your work. Are you overworked? Bored and de-motivated? Thriving and striving? Pay particular attention to any feelings associated with your work life and career goals during this Libra new moon.
Also consider your daily schedules. Do you have some spaciousness in your days? Some time to create, to rest, to pursue your hobbies? Are there things you want to drop from your to-do list, or little rituals or habits that you want to incorporate?
This Libra full moon is also a good time to focus on taking better care of our health — fitness, eating well, scheduling any overdue health checks, are all encouraged during this lunation.
Astrology and tarot influences for the April 2026 full moon in Libra
To throw some more light on the astrology of the full moon in Libra, let’s take a look at the astrology and tarot influences of this lunation. The Libra full moon falls in decan 2, which is represented by the 3 of Swords. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with Justice, which is associated with Libra.

Your repeating patterns aren’t mistakes — they’re messages.
Introducing Soul Lines: Discover the Story Written in Your Birth Cards. This guided tarot workbook helps you decode your repeating patterns through your Soul, Personality, and Hidden Factor Cards.
Meet your three core archetypes, understand your life themes, uncover your deeper purpose, and turn self-doubt into self-trust.
When I look at these two cards together, the phrase that comes to mind is “the bleeding heart of justice”. Let’s examine this more closely.
I think of the sword in the hand of the Lady of Justice as the sword of discernment — as she parses truth from lies, right from wrong — and the scales as a symbol indicating the need for balance or equilibrium.
In the Raider-Waite Smith depiction of the 3 of Swords, those swords pierce a bleeding heart. So the question arises: are we being discerning? Are we being truthful to ourselves? Or are the swords of our fears and our outmoded truths wounding us?
Often, our tender hearts are pierced by old wounds, patterns, and belief systems that we have inherited from our environment and culture that are no longer true for us. Many times, we aren’t even fully aware of these wounds, as we have learnt how to operate despite them. They do make themselves know from time to time though, every time we are triggered by external events or when our harsh self-talk, or harmful behavior patterns strangle our dreams before we’ve even had a chance to try to make them work.
The Lady of Justice asks us to examine the stories we tell ourselves. To find out if they are true, if they are harming us, and to look for a resolution and reparation for those self-inflicted wounds. And if we are willing to do the work during this lunation, we have the chance to recognize our wholeness despite our wounding through acceptance, love, and understanding {and perhaps even some therapy}.
This theme is echoed with what’s happening in the stars. The moon is opposite both Saturn and Neptune, square Jupiter and trine Pluto. Together, these influences can create some emotional tension that asks to confront our beliefs or old stories vs our lived reality.
Neptune, which invokes both intuition and imagination, can blur the edges between the two, leading us into idealism or denial, while Saturn brings us back to what is real and sustainable. Jupiter stretches this tension, amplifying our emotions around this time.
Pluto, with its harmonious aspect to the moon, provides some support, offering depth, insight, and the possibility of real transformation. If we are willing to look at ourselves honestly, we have the opportunity to understand the deeper patterns at play and to release what no longer aligns.
This is the work of this full moon: to examine some of our old stories and do the work to free ourselves of their clutches.

This is a rune of energy, vitality, and passion — very apt for this lunation. Our wounded parts tend to rob us of some of our vitality and passion, until we do the work to heal them. This rune gives us the courage to face our fears, our hurts, our shadows and to emerge stronger.
Pay attention to your energy — are you fired up, alive, filled with life force? Or are you dull, dispirited, wilting? This rune reminds us to tend to our own fire, to care for our own sources of energy and vitality. It’s a reminder to fill our cup before we get depleted.
The Womanrunes were created by Shekhinah Mountainwater in 1987. There were originally no written interpretations available for these runes, other than the name and one word meanings, which offer tremendous scope for personal interpretation. The remastered original hand drawn Womanrunes can be purchased here. Molly Remer subsequently wrote Womanrunes: A Guide to Their Use and Interpretation, based on her own meditations and interpretations of the runes. Her book is available on Amazon and Etsy.
