Those of you who know me and who have followed my blog long enough would know that spirituality is a big part of my life. I believe in taking regular me time, in meditating, and in being creative – be it through art or photography, writing or cooking.
In the busyness of daily life, though, it is easy to let me time slide. But life, it can be simple again. Honest!
Just give yourself permission to take a break and play.
And what better way to do it than by using art and journaling as a means to relax and comfort yourself and to get grounded while dealing with the craziness of every-day living?
And what better teacher than Melody Ross from The Brave Girls Club?
She’s launched a new class called Soul Comfort, and it sounds…amazing!
I had the opportunity to take the Brave Girls Art School 1 with Melody online, and I loved every moment of it! In fact, I’m still working my way through some of the lessons. Her teaching style is simple, and she makes you feel like she’s right there in the room with you.
So, what will you get in this course?
The course is full of beautiful projects to fuel your creativity in very simple and easy ways that are meditational and relaxing , beautiful comforting things that will have your soul infused into them so that you would want to keep them forever.
You can listen to Melody talk about the class in the video below:

Pingback: Blog-Fest Week! Soul Comfort Give-Aways by awesome blogging friends!!!! | Brave Girls ClubBrave Girls Club
I would love to discover SIMPLICITY ! Thanks for the opportunity.
Warm cup of coffee, roaring fireplace, some soft music, quilt to cuddle and a good book – and God’s arms around me.
Soul Comfort: Soul is always at comfort, always at ease, at peace. There is no need to fight, struggle, no need to be this or that tomorrow.
But it is us who are not connected to our soul, outside the lake, that see ripples and drifts in the lake and think our soul is stressed, tensed.
Therefore soul comfort is a discovery, a realization, a moment of knowing we were always in utter peace, in utter love, in utter joy.
I am so full of joy and gratitude for the Brave Girls group and your willingness to host their contest!! You play an important role in spreading the yummy inspiring goodness of Brave Girls Club!
Soul comfort – a Divinely-inspired peace and serenity that warms ones heart from the inside out.
Again thanks for hosting!
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity. When I think of Soul Comfort, I can’t help but think of a newborn baby… that is protected, comforted and nurtured. All things that I would love to feel and give myself permission to experience.
With each blog that I visit I get a little more excited about certain points that jump out at me that I may have missed before. You almost need to read about it a dozen times to really see all the goodness in this class.
When I think of Soul Comfort, I think of that moment when I feel loved, protected, and at peace. Peace is seriously lacking right now. I would want to take this class to learn how to find a place of peace and rest among all the turmoil around me. Thank you for this opportunity to take this class. Winning this class would be the only way I could take it right now.
Today, when I think of Soul Comfort, I think of inner peace and awareness of the connections with the people in my life.
When I think of Soul Comfort, I realize that it has only been in terms of something that someone else needed and it was my responsibility and my job to provide it to them (in family and in my career). As an Oncology Nurse I have always seen the need to provide to my patients and families comfort in the most devastating times of their lives…through their diagnosis, treatment and other heartbreaking times they struggle with. In my personal life, I’ve struggled with having an aging mother who worked her entire life for her children only to lose most of them. Being the ‘single one’ (no kids or spouse), I fill in the void for her as much as possible.
I have recently lost my job of 20 years and I feel so lost…so broken and unsure of what to do.
With the help of very special friends in my life and special Brave Girl Sisters I have realized that what I really need is Soul Comfort of my own. I have given enough and fed enough souls for now without having my own soul fed.
You can only give what you have.
It is the time right now for me to feed my soul before I can journey on to what it is meant for me next. Thank you for providing this opportunity to those that need it most….good luck Braves and hope to meet you in Soul Comfort.
Denise
Taking some quiet time just for me. Walks in nature. Restoring. A long hot bath. Cups of tea in my comfy chair. Thank you for this chance!
My Momma !
Soul comfort = sitting on my rocks when tide out at the beach. My spot. Hoping this class can make me feel that way when I’m back home 6 hrs away
of creating and being inspired, slowing down and savoring…
When I hear the words “soul comfort” i think of a peace that passes all understanding.
I think of self care…relaxation and finding inner peace… Thank you for the chance to win…I could totally use some soul comfort…
I think about being curled up in the corner of my sofa with a hot cup of tea and being surround by the gentle peace of quiet time.
Soul comfort; Snugged on the couch doing nothing with my pup Cody and my hubby Danny, These moments are far and few between, I hope this course helps me to balance my time more for times like these
I have always naturally felt the need to take care of my family first. I was an only child, took care of my parents as they aged, took care of my 6 children as a single parent. Taking care of myself is very foreign concept to me, even now as a senior person. Life is chaotic, even now, having peace and calm in my life would be a Comfort to my Soul. I think this holiday season will be no different unless I learn a way to simplify and create calm in my life. Thank you for this opportunity! Kay P.
Soul comfort to me means enjoying the simple things. To really feel and experience the everyday things.
Soul comfort is being comfortable and accepting of who I am, my beliefs, talents and abilities, as well as my limitations.
I think of allowing myself to listen to my inner voice and remember who I am. Doing this allows me to strengthen those women around me.
When I hear the words soul comfort, I think of feeling at peace, relaxing, taking time for myself, spending time with God, doing something for ME. I get stuck in a rut sometimes always being mom and wife and I forget to take time for me, well actually I feel guilty when I take time for me.
Thank you
Soul Comfort means being at peace with myself and my circumstances. It means healing and taking some quiet time for myself. It means being a better mother and wife by choosing to take care of me along the way.
To me….soul comfort would be creating a spot of peace within that I can stop and visit as often as I need to adjust my frame of mind.
To listen to your inner voice and to acknowledge your truth.
God is my soul comfort, He restores my soul!!!
Thank you!!!
I think of self-acceptance, grace and peace.
When I hear the words “Soul Comfort,” I think of relaxing on a balcony overlooking the ocean, breeze in my hair, cup of coffee in my hand, my cares and worries far away. Yeah, I’d say that’s soul comfort for sure!
Soul comfort…easing the pain of my disability, feeling fine about having to care for my parents, and being able to create art whenever I want to-it’s my therapy. Since I could never afford to pay for this wonderful online course, I’m hoping to win a “seat” in the class:) Thanks for the chance.
Soul Comfort to me would be peace and joy at the deepest levels. thank you!
When I hear the words “Soul Comfort” I think of feeling safe and warm, peaceful and content inside while the world is raging on the outside!
When I hear the words soul comfort, I think of calm, peaceful, contentment. For me, I find that happy place in doing creative projects, mostly art and photography.
I think of a deeply peaceful feeling where my mind is clear and my heart hums.
Soul comfort… I think of that all encompassing warmth like you would find on a white sand beach in Florida, snuggling with a soul mate who happens to be your daughter, hanging out with friends watching the stars and having deep conversations, or holding your first grandbaby.
Soul Comfort means being in a calm state, enjoying some good food, warm drink and some inspiring music. Thank you for the chance to win!
Soul comfort makes me think of peace and happiness and love, and being able to quiet the busyness and stress in my life.
Reading the words “soul comfort” made me immediately breathe easier. When I think on the words, I yearn for a quiet I haven’t had in a while. New job, new house…neither my choice at the onset…has made the last 3 months stressful. I’d love this class.
The words soul comfort to me means the ability to breathe, freely exhaling with out thought of the negative energy that may have been encircling one’s life, at another time. The comfort of ones soul comes when contentment and joy are aroused in the thoughts of self identity. Who a person is, their nature, and soul being one and being in harmony with their environment regardless of circumstance is soul comfort. I am happy with who I am today, regardless of where I have been, and what I have done, that it soul comfort, and it cannot be taken by anyone or any thing. It is also an ongoing process that requires time to nurture the self in all aspects as well, creativity being a very important way to express that comfort!
Soul comfort: finding stillness inside. Creating a quiet space free of racing thoughts and never ending to do lists.
Thanks!!
Soul Comfort= doing something that brings you joy, peace, contentment, and calm. Love the bravegirlsclub and their daily inspirational emails!
