Tarot spread for the March 2022 new moon in Pisces

The March 2022 new moon falls in the sign of Pisces. The Pisces archetype is highly intuitive and very open to the flow of creative imagination. This is the sign of creative dreamers and mystics and visionaries, which makes this new moon an excellent time to flex your intuitive and creative muscles.

Spiritually, the Pisces archetype teaches the principle of unity, of recognizing the divinity within you. One way to understand this principle is by looking at creation – the creator {God, Universe, Source, however you wish to name it} created this earth, the rivers and seas, the trees, birds, insects, animals, man.

Similarly, man has the ability to create – and to create consciously. It is this ability that points to the spiritual truth of Pisces, that we are spiritual beings having a human experience {with the emphasis on our humanness in all its frailty and beauty}. It is by accepting responsibility for consciously creating – which isn’t always easy – that you connect most deeply with the creator. Needless to say, empathy and compassion are the cornerstones of the Pisces archetype.

The March 2022 new moon also highlights the rituals and routines that support our self-care and wellness efforts. If you’ve been meaning to start a new fitness routine but haven’t gotten around to it yet, this moon cycle is the perfect time to start.

It’s also a good time to take a look at your self-care routines — how well are looking after yourself {body, mind, and soul} and the ways in which you nourish yourself {physically, mentally and emotionally}. This new moon may inspire you to fluff up your nest and redecorate your spaces.

Astro-Tarot influences for the Pisces new moon

To throw some more light on the March 2022 new moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation.

The Pisces new moon falls in decan 2, which is represented by the 9 of Cups. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with The Moon, which is associated with Pisces.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck

I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.

Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.

There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.

Ah, The Moon! Often seen as a card of illusion and fear, but to me, it represents SO MUCH more! The Moon is mystery and magic; the cycle of birth and death and re-birth; a visual reminder of cyclical time, the bringer of the tides, the stirrer of emotions

The Moon also reminds me of the moon cycles. Of the seeds we sow on the new moon and the growth we see on the full moon and the harvest we reap around the dark moon, and round and round we go.

Paired with the 9 of Cups, which speaks to me of fulfillment and abundance and satisfaction, it makes me think of endings and beginnings — one cycle is almost completed, another one is about to begin. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, so in a way, the next new moon in Aries will be the start of a new lunar year. And with the 9, we are in the final stages of culmination.

So, what is ending? What is beginning? What loose ends need wrapping up? What new seeds need planting? What do you need to integrate more fully? What new ways of being and doing are you exploring? What fresh perspective is starting to become clearer?

Look at things from different angles, see if you can gain some fresh perspective on things that have been tugging at you since a while.

The Pisces moon is also a wonderful time to tap into your intuition and to pay closer attention to your dreams.

Sabian Symbol for the March 2022 new moon in Pisces

A sword, in many ways, is like a wand, directing our attention and will towards a singular task, thus helping us to concentrate our will and to focus on the issue at hand. Both of which are key to helping us as we focus on and work towards our new moon intentions and desires.

There are more layers, too, to this symbol, which Lynda Hill explains beautifully in her book, 360 Degrees Of Wisdom: The Sabian Oracle:

“This Symbol shows it’s time to give up ‘Battling’, to aim now for more peaceful solutions. There may have been a lot learnt in the ‘Battles’ you’ve experienced, but the thing that’s best learnt is that continuing to fight may lead to a bitter end, with no one being a true winner. Now’s the time to lay down the ‘Sword’ and accept love and peace back into your life. Putting the ‘Sword’ away in a ‘Museum’ can allow others to benefit from the struggles that have been undertaken, without worrying about how this weapon will be used in the future. How long can one go on battling, fighting and defending?”
