Plus an astrology and tarot forecast, journaling prompts, and Womanrunes reading for the Capricorn full moon.

The July 2025 full moon falls in the sign of Capricorn. Symbolized by the mountain goat, which maintains perfect balance while it climbs over precarious rock ledges, the Capricorn archetype is one of disciplined and dogged determination towards the attainment of our worldly desires.
Spiritually, the Capricorn archetype teaches us about integrity and helps us to harness the ability to plan our work, and stick to it, no matter what. In these times of 24×7 consumption culture, it’s easy to be addicted with shiny object syndrome and forget about our goals and plans. Capricorn teaches us about the meaning of integrity: to align ourselves with our highest ideals and actualize our potential.
This full moon also has a rather transformative energy. It can unlock a moment of sudden clarity, one that shifts our perspective, releases an old block, or helps us break a repetitive pattern.
This Capricorn moon casts a light on the ways in which we hold and surrender our personal power, be that in relationships, finances, or emotional or material attachments. It asks us to take a close look at the ways in which fear makes us either cling on to control or to give it away, and invites us to step into a more grounded sense of personal authority.
Astrology and Tarot forecast for the July 2025 full moon
To throw some more light on the July full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Capricorn full moon falls in decan 2, which is represented by the Three of Pentacles. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with The Devil, which is associated with Capricorn.

The Daily Pause Oracle
A beautifully designed 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, give you a word or an idea to reflect on as you go about your day. Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing. There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.
Building anything of value, of meaning — be that a career, a home, a relationship, even the self — requires the laying of strong foundations. And one of the key ingredients in creating that foundation is trust. Because no matter what we are building, and no matter how fabulous a blueprint we have to guide our steps, there’s always the possibility for things to go wrong.
If we stick with the construction analogy, despite all of the blueprints and careful calculations, any number of things can go wrong — the raw materials may be flawed; the input prices required for construction may escalate; the builders may go on strike; the casting of the walls may be skewed to one side…and yet, new construction projects are started around the world almost every day. Despite the possibilities of delays, shortages, and even non-completion.
And while our lives and goals are not a construction project, the analogy serves. We have a vision, and though we may not necessarily have a blueprint, we have ideas on how we can work towards and perhaps achieve that vision.
It requires from us commitment, focus, an attention to detail, and the willingness to do the work. What often stymies us, though, is our own negative patterns of thinking and behaving.
I think it is safe to say that the pursuit of any goal requires some sacrifice, some change from the norm. We need to step at least a little bit out of our comfort zone, if not a lot, and to take some risks. But we can often feel safe in our comfort zones, in the unchanging routines by which we build our lives. It takes courage — and trust — to break away and strike off on a new path. To do the work needed to build a foundation that will support us with our visions. Because if we don’t, things remain stagnant. And from stagnancy eventually grows regret.
With the moon forming a harmonious trine with Mars, we can more easily access the fiery courage, steady determination, and motivation to take decisive action. It infuses the Capricorn full moon’s blueprint with the fuel to act, to commit, to risk building something new despite the possibility of setbacks or flaws in the plan.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect conditions before moving forward with a goal, this aspect reminds you that courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear, it’s the decision to move forward alongside it. Mars lends us the stamina to stay the course, to keep laying bricks even when doubt clouds our vision, to trust ourselves enough to begin…and to keep going.
Womanrunes for the July 2025 full moon in Capricorn
Every full moon, I will draw a Womanrune for us, as a theme, a learning, a focus point for the days until the next full moon rolls around. This month, I drew Rune 6. The Labrys. Rune of Will.
This is the perfect rune to carry us through this lunation. A rune of assertiveness, of standing up for oneself and unapologetically claiming our space. A reminder that we have the reserves of strength and the personal power to wield our will towards whatever it is that we truly desire.
This rune often appears when it is time for us to make changes; to draw upon our ability to notice what needs to be different, what is calling for action and change, and to harness the courage that will be necessary to enact that change.
The Womanrunes were created by Shekhinah Mountainwater in 1987. There were originally no written interpretations available for these runes, other than the name and one word meanings, which offer tremendous scope for personal interpretation. The remastered original hand drawn Womanrunes can be purchased here. Molly Remer subsequently wrote Womanrunes: A Guide to Their Use and Interpretation, based on her own meditations and interpretations of the runes. Her book is available on Amazon and Etsy.
