Plus an astrology and tarot forecast, journal prompts, and Womanrunes reading for the Aquarius full moon.

The July 2026 full moon falls in the sign of Aquarius. The independent, free-thinking Aquarius archetype encourages us to examine our inner wild self and celebrate everything that makes us unique. It is the archetype of the reformer, the idealist who strives for tolerance, unity, and a better and brighter society. And despite these rather lofty ideals, the Aquarius archetype isn’t afraid to get in there and get its hands dirty.
Spiritually, the Aquarius archetype teaches us how to be true to our own voice, to listen to and follow the calling of our own heart and soul. By learning how to tune in rather than out, by being true to the things that make us unique, we undertake the journey to individuation.
This full moon also marks a time of endings and new beginnings. It can bring up old issues, patterns, or blocks for another go-around or a final resolution. Healing work — be it therapy or self-healing techniques — will be helpful during this time. Spend some time to review where you have been focusing your attention and decide where you want to go from there.
Look at the things that are working, the things that aren’t, the things that you’ve been desperately wanting to make work, and see if they are truly important to you, or if you’ve bought into a collective story that simply does not work for you.
Also pay attention to your dreams, especially around this lunation, and find some way to tap into your intuition on the regular. Consider drawing a daily oracle or tarot card, especially during this moon cycle.

This human life can be messy and painful. External circumstances, our inner mental chatter, and how these factors impact our emotional undercurrents can color our view of the world. One day, things can feel shiny and hopeful; the next, uncertainties and doubts can plague our minds.
While external circumstances aren’t always in our control, we do have a say in how we respond to our internal mental chatter. It can be difficult, though, to not give in to the voices that tell us we are not enough, that we should be further along on our path, or that things never work out the way we want them. Difficult, but not impossible.
If we sit down and work with those voices, which I’m going to call our saboteurs, we’ll often find that they are, in their own way, trying to help us. How they’re going about it isn’t always helpful, though.
The question isn’t how to silence these saboteurs, but whether we want to keep believing what those voices have to say as we go about our days. That’s where the medicine of The Star comes in, representing as it does healing, hope, and returning to your truest self.
Where those internal voices seem to pull us down, The Star asks gentler questions — is that voice true? Helpful? Does it help you in any way? And if it doesn’t, what would be a better way to frame this thought? What would help us show up as the best possible version of ourselves in this moment?
Interestingly, the astrology around this full moon in Aquarius also shines a light on the stories we tell ourselves. With the Moon opposite Jupiter, our inner dialogue can become louder than usual, magnifying doubts, frustrations, or expectations. Rather than taking those stories at face value, the Moon’s conjunction with Pluto asks us to look beneath the surface, uncovering the deeper fears, beliefs, or patterns that shape our reactions.
Yet this isn’t a lunation that leaves us stuck in introspection. A harmonious trine to Uranus brings the possibility of breakthrough, a chance to loosen our grip on old ways of thinking and glimpse a different way of being. With Neptune also active during this lunation, this shift isn’t simply about letting go of old narratives, but about reconnecting with a vision of who we’re becoming and allowing that vision to guide our next steps.
Ultimately, this full moon reminds us that some of our most profound transformations come not by changing our circumstances, but by changing the story we tell ourselves about them.
Womanrunes for the July 2026 full moon in Aquarius
Every full moon, I will draw a Womanrune for us, as a theme, a learning, a focus point for the days until the next full moon rolls around. This month, I drew Rune 30: The Two Circles. Rune of Merging.

This is a rune of connection, of interdependence, of relationships and partnerships. Consider your circles of interdependence. Your friendships, partnerships, associations. Which ones need more nurturing? Which ones need to dissolve?
Consider, too, if you are self-isolating yourself in a way that doesn’t feel good to you. Some of us are more introverted. Hermit like. That’s totally valid. But if you’ve been feeling like you’re letting your hermit-like tendencies getting in the way of living, or if you’re avoiding social situations and are starting to realize that maybe you’re becoming a little too isolated, this may be a good time to poke your head out of your shell, at least for a while.
The Womanrunes were created by Shekhinah Mountainwater in 1987. There were originally no written interpretations available for these runes, other than the name and one word meanings, which offer tremendous scope for personal interpretation. The remastered original hand drawn Womanrunes can be purchased here. Molly Remer subsequently wrote Womanrunes: A Guide to Their Use and Interpretation, based on her own meditations and interpretations of the runes. Her book is available on Amazon and Etsy.

Journaling questions for the full moon in Aquarius
Not a cardslinger? No problem. Instead of leaving you with a handful of journal prompts, though, I have a journaling exercise for you, pulled from my own journal. I hope you find this as powerful as I did.
In conversation with your saboteur:
Think of a negative voice, a voice that holds you back from going after your goals or doing things that you say you want to do. Try and give it a name.
Now think of the wiser part of you. The part who knows what’s good for you and try to give it a name.
Then, start a dialogue between the two.
Your wise self starts the conversation by inviting the saboteur for a talk.
Keep the conversation constructive, by which I mean don’t blame/shame/get angry with your saboteur. Your wise self is trying to understand the saboteur — why they show up, what they’re trying to shield you from, and how you can work together instead of at cross-purposes.
The dialogue ends when you arrive at common ground. You could walk away with tools that will help you move towards your goal or a more neutral ground from where you can build up a habit, for example.
This exercise can take some time, so make sure you do it when you have at least 30-45 minutes when you won’t be disturbed.
If you want a shorter version, try this:
Complete the following in your journal: My saboteur says…
Write freely without censoring yourself.
Then respond with: The Star replies…
Allow this voice to answer with kindness, wisdom, encouragement, or perspective. You’re stepping into the archetype of The Star card here. If you want, you can pull out the card from your tarot deck and keep it in front of you while you journal.
Finally, close by completing this line: Today, I choose…
