November 2020: Tarot spread for the full moon in Gemini

Tarot spread for the November 2020 lunar eclipse and full moon in Gemini

The November 2020 full moon falls in the sign of Gemini. The Gemini archetype is very curious, an excellent communicator, and a disseminator of knowledge. It is the sign of the writer, of those who tend to think deeply, are highly perceptive, and prefer to learn from experience.

Spiritually, the Gemini archetype is about courageous conversation, be it with another person or with the Universe. Gemini adds its vibration to the advancement of culture and civilization through dialogue, be that via books or blogs or letters.

This month, we also have a lunar eclipse, which will be visible in North and South America, Australia, and parts of Asia. Lunar eclipses typically help us to release things that no longer serve us. The seeds that you planted six months ago, at the solar eclipse, will also start to blossom around this time.

This full moon also highlights our sense of self-worth and self-esteem, which are intrinsically tied to our finances and our emotions – both of which have been through the wringer this year. There’s been the emotional and mental toll of lockdowns, business closures, the death of loved ones, and the loss of jobs. Those of us who have been lucky to have gone through this year with comparatively minimal loss could still be feeling the collective heaviness. Survivor’s guilt is also something that could plague us from time to time.

How can we deal with our emotional and financial needs? How can we support those less fortunate than us? In what ways can we lend comfort where it is needed – to ourselves, our loved ones, within our communities, more broadly? These are some of the questions that this full moon highlights.

Astro-tarot influences for the November 2020 full moon

To throw some more light on the November full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Gemini full moon falls in decan 1, which is represented by the Eight of Swords. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with The Lovers, which is associated with Gemini.

The 8 of Swords represents restrictions, illusions, and panic. It often indicates periods when we feel stuck and unable to make progress, or are unsure about how to proceed from where we currently are. The Lovers represents love in all its forms, not just romantic. At its essence, it is about creating conscious connections and meaningful relationships with others and also with yourself, which also implies gaining clarity on your core values and beliefs. At its heart, this card is about making choices about who you are, and about how you connect and communicate with others.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck

I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.

Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.

There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.

This Gemini full moon holds up a light to everything that the Gemini new moon brought up for us back in May. Look back at the intentions you set at that moon – or at your tarot reading then – what progress have you made towards those goals? What lingering fears are holding you back? Are you still keeping yourself small in some ways? How can you step more into love, into light, into wholeness, into your own power?

Some of these words – love, light, power – have been overused and lost their meaning. Spend some time defining what these mean to YOU – not how you’ve seen them described or used in common culture.

How can you step into love and light in an embodied, whole-hearted way? With your wounding and your shadows? Owning it, not dissociating from it. How would that look?

What does it mean to you to step into your power? What would that feel like to you? In your heart….your body…your life? Not just as an oft repeated statement that sounds good, but then leaves you wondering just how you would step into your power, whatever that means! – and more importantly, what would it even feel like?

Tap into the natural curiosity and quick-witted Gemini nature to begin to define what these would mean and feel like for you.

Sabian Symbol for the November 2020 full moon in Gemini

The Sabian Symbol for Gemini 8 degrees is A Medieval Archer Stands With The Ease Of One Wholly Sure Of Himself, Bow In Hand, His Quiver Filled With Arrows.

This symbol reminds me of the warrior – brave, confident, at ease, ready to face the enemy and defend all that’s dear to him. I wonder at the bravery that they would have displayed outwardly, while on the inside, the fear must have been a real, palpable thing. That’s what it would have been like to be a warrior – be it on the battlefield or out with the clan, hunting for food. The gnawing and ever-present fear, tamed by will and courage.

In our modern context, where does fear show up? How do we face it, and overcome it, and show up anyway? How do we stand up for ourselves, our ideals and our values?

There’s also the question of focus. Without a calm mind, a grounded stance, and a sure aim, the archer can’t hit his target. Even in the midst of battle, the marksman maintains a center of calm focus.

How do we translate that into our modern lives, where our attention is scattered in a thousand different directions and distractions?

And then, there’s the question of carrying that quiver filled with arrows. The warrior needs to be sure his arrows are notched well, their tips sharp, so they may fly straight and true. If they’re broken or dulled, he’s carrying their weight around in vain.

Similarly, what baggage are you carrying around? Do you really need to lug all of it around? What can you set down? How can you lighten the load? Our arrows may not be weapons, but they are the tools that will help us to live meaningful lives, doing the things we need to do and the things we enjoy, always balancing the practical with the things that fill our lives with wonder and joy.

  1. Everything you said about the Gemini is so true…I am a Gemini and I could relate to it all. It felt like it was written for me! I am going to sit and ponder over the questions you shared above and try and find what is that burden that I need to let go of.
