November 2021: Tarot spread for the full moon in Taurus

Tarot spread for the November 2021 full moon in Taurus

The November 2021 full moon falls in the sign of Taurus. The Taurus archetype is grounded and steadfast, calm and composed, firm and also somewhat stubborn. This is a sign that is practical and earthy, and is associated with material pleasures, desires, luxuriousness, and abundance.

Spiritually, the Taurus archetype teaches the principle of belonging through presence…our presence as sacred human beings…honouring the body temple…honouring the flow of life. This can be difficult given the society we live in, which praises the hustle over reverence and treats time as money rather than a finite resource that should be used wisely in the pursuit of the things that give us meaning.

This month, we also have a lunar eclipse, which will be visible from the Americas, North Europe, eastern Asia, Australia, and the Pacific. Lunar eclipses typically help us to release things that no longer serve us. The seeds that you planted six months ago, at the solar eclipse, will also start to blossom around this time.

This moon also highlights the many relationships in our lives. This includes our relationship with others, as well as our relationship with ourselves, with money, and with our resources. This sensual Taurus full moon can help us to improve our relationship with ourselves through a focus on self-love and self-worth. This lunation can also help us examine how we use our possessions and resources; re-evaluate our relationship with money and how we use it; and take better responsibility for budgeting, investments, and long-term financial planning.

Astro-Tarot influences for the November 2021 full moon in Taurus

To throw some more light on the November full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Taurus new moon falls in decan 3, which is represented by the Seven of Pentacles. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with The Hierophant, which is associated with Taurus.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck

I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.

Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.

There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.

We are on the threshold of a new Taurus-Scorpio eclipse cycle that will last into 2022. As we prepare for a new round of growth, this November full moon invites us to pause for a moment and re-assess, review, and reflect on our journey so far (7 of Pentacles).

What have you learnt over the last six months? Over the last year? If you can remember back to 2013-2014 — the last Taurus-Scorpio eclipse season — what have you learnt since then?

We are often so focused on our goals, on crossing items off our never ending to-do lists, or simply on keeping things running smoothly, that we forget to stop and reflect on how far we have come. But it is only by building in time for some reflection and regular check-ins with ourselves that we can course correct.

For many of us, these tumultuous pandemic years were like a giant pause, reflect, and reset button. While there was — and still is — uncertainty, anxiety, and sorrow, these years have also helped many of us realize what truly matters to us. We’ve seen some big conversations on social media and social justice issues, as well as a gradual, subversive shift from hustle culture to an increased understanding of and appreciation for simple living and the importance of rest and leisure. (The Hierophant)

This Taurus full moon can help us to sift through all of this new information, sort through all that no longer serves us, and chart a new path for ourselves and our lives.

This symbol is a wonderful reminder of second chances; of love, sensuality, and romance; and of starting over in life. It serves as a reminder that even in the darkest hours, when it feels like the best may have passed us by, there is the hope of a new dawn, of fresh inspiration and renewal, of renewed romance.

Romance, here, can indicate many things: a newfound passion for art, music, cooking, tarot, astrology – anything that ignites your interest and passion.

There’s also a certain level of maturity that this symbol hints at. As Lynda Hill writes in 360 Degrees of Wisdom: The Sabian Oracle, “You know not to be swept off your feet and misguided by overreaction. Nor is it a good idea to just take whatever you can get, thinking nothing better will ever come along. With a mature attitude, you can have a deep understanding of what is possible and you can choose to become involved, or not, for all the right reasons.”
