Plus some journaling questions, an astro-tarot forecast, exploration of the the Sabian symbol, and additional resources for the June 2021 solar eclipse in Gemini.

The June 2021 new moon falls in the sign of Gemini. The Gemini archetype is very curious, an excellent communicator, and a disseminator of knowledge. It is the sign of the writer, of those who tend to think deeply, are highly perceptive, and prefer to learn from experience.
Spiritually, the Gemini archetype is about courageous conversation, be it with another person or with the Universe. Gemini adds its vibration to the advancement of culture and civilization through dialogue, be that via books or blogs or letters.
This month, we also have a solar eclipse, which will be visible in parts of Russia, Greenland and northern Canada. Northern Asia, Europe, and the US will see a partial eclipse. This gives the June 2021 new moon an extra oomph, helping us to break habitual patterns, bringing in an awakening, and offering us the chance for a cosmic reboot.
This new moon asks us, specifically, to dig in deep and really get to know ourselves. In the busy-making of everyday life, it’s easy to lose sight of who we really are, of what makes us tick, what drives us, and where we want to focus. This Gemini new moon asks us to consider what relationships are we cultivating – with others, ourselves, and the technologies we use – and to examine the legacy we are leaving for the generations that come after us.
Astro-tarot influences for the June 2021 new moon
To throw some more light on the June new moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Gemini new moon falls in decan 2, which is represented by the Nine of Swords. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with The Lovers, which is associated with Gemini.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck
I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.
Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.
There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.
The 9 of Swords represents our anxieties and fears. The ones that can keep us awake at night or have us losing sleep as we grapple with stressful situations. It also indicates a sense of powerlessness and indicates a predisposition to overthinking situations. The Lovers represents love in all its forms, not just romantic. At its essence, it’s about conscious connections and meaningful relationships with others and with yourself.
This feels like a super-charged time to do some old fashioned soul searching. A time when the big questions demand answers – who am I? What do I stand for? What do I want my legacy to be? What values am I living by? What really matters to me? Am I conscious of the choices I am making, or am I operating on default? Following the herd or marching to my own drum beat?
These are questions that can induce significant anxiety. They are, after all, big questions. And they don’t have a “right” answer. Besides which, “right” is subjective, which makes these even tougher questions to grapple with. Added to the mix is the fact that the answers to some of these questions are constantly changing – you are not the same person you were 1, 5, or 10 years ago.
And yet, these questions arise from time to time, forcing us to slow down, reflect, and course correct where needed.
The astrology of this Gemini new moon brings an added urgency to these questions. It will also bring clarity if we really engage with them. And it can propel us to start something new. In fact, you may start to feel the stirring of a new idea building up a few days before the new moon, so pay attention to any ideas or yearnings to rebuild or redo or create something.
But, given that we are in the middle of an eclipse portal and with mercury in retrograde, don’t rush into pulling down something without first thinking it through. The urge to scrap something may hide the kernel of an idea that wants to be born – but you may not necessarily need to destroy something to birth that new idea. It would be very helpful if you could bounce your ideas off with a close friend. Sometimes, when you talk things through with someone you trust, they can point out any blind spots or help you to really think through and refine your ideas.
At the same time, don’t overthink your ideas. If you felt a tingle of excitement, honor it. It’s very easy to find flaws in our ideas and completely stifle them when we start overthinking things.

This is an interesting symbol, especially for this particular new moon cycle. It points to the many options that we have available to us, the necessity to make a choice, and the many consequences that come from choosing one option over the other.
This Sabian Symbol is also a reminder to be mindful that we cannot say yes to every beautiful shiny thing. We need to make choices – and the key to making the right choice for you is to know who you are and what you stand for.
Which is the very theme of this June 2021 new moon.
