Plus some journaling questions, an astro-tarot forecast, exploration of the the Sabian symbol, mini ritual, and additional resources for the February 2022 full moon in Leo.

The February 2022 full moon falls in the sign of Leo. The bold and dynamic Leo archetype infuses us with a passionate zest for living. It is the archetype of the fiery creative who is confident and unafraid to stand in the spotlight. But this infectious dynamic can also succumb to its shadow aspects of overbearing pride, drama and arrogance.
Spiritually, the Leo archetype teaches the principle of creative manifestation. Clarity of thought and focused energy, which points to the spiritual principle that your beliefs about life tend to shape your life. You can see this spiritual principle at play with a regular gratitude practice. When you cultivate an active gratitude practice, you tend to experience a shift in your life and circumstances. And while your life may not change dramatically, your outlook to life can certainly shift.
This full moon also highlights our standing in the world, and with it, our personal power, as well as our role in society and the ways in which we contribute to the world. Some of us contribute in big and beautiful ways – through social activism, teaching, sharing of wisdom and knowledge – others in gentle, smaller ways – among our families and communities. Both ways of being in the world are valid.
Under the light of this full moon, re-evaluate and re-examine how you would like to show up and share your gifts with the world in a way that is in alignment with who you are.
Astro-Tarot influences for the Leo full moon
To throw some more light on the February full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Leo full moon falls in decan 3, which is represented by the Seven of Wands. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with Strength, which is associated with Leo.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck
I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.
Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.
There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.
The wands speak to me of fire. Of creative fire. Of taking big, bold action towards living my creative dreams. When, at the end of a long, tiring day at work, I spend 5 minutes flinging paint, I am living my creative dream. When I cook a meal that evokes childhood dreams, or add in ingredients in a moment of inspiration, I’m living my creative dreams. When I create little pockets of beauty in an otherwise chaotic house, I’m living my creative dreams.
None of this comes easy. Living a dream takes courage. You need to be able to stand your ground (7 of Wands). To remind yourself of what is important. Of what gives you life and vitality and joy. And you need to get creative with how you go after those dreams.
Some dreams may seem impossibly big. Others may not quite fit your lived reality. The circumstances may not be quite right. Like when you have cats who think they are herbalists, nibbling on every plant in their sight, making it impossible to bring the outdoors inside. But we do what we can. If I can’t fill up my living room with plants, I can fill my studio — where the cats are allowed in only under supervision — with vases of brightly colored stasis and money plants in jars of water.
It’s easy to throw in the towel and declare that things are impossible. That we’ve been dealt a shitty hand. That life sucks and that’s really all there is to it. That’s when the fiery wands can become destructive, metaphorically burning up everything in sight — dreams, energy, creativity, even our very life force.
It takes courage to find creative solutions. (Strength) To work with the hand you’ve been dealt. To look for small victories in unexpected places. And, I think it takes even more courage to accept that you cannot always have everything you want, and that it’s ok. It may suck, but it doesn’t mean that you are a failure. That’s just the way life works.
There’s a Hindi movie song written by the poet Nida Fazli that sums it up:
No one ever gets a complete world all the time
sometimes they don’t get their place on earth,
at other times they don’t get their place in heaven
I think remembering this, that we cannot always get everything all of the time, can be a source of hope and strength as we sail forth in pursuit of our own creative dreams and callings.

This symbol reminds me of The Little Mermaid. What I remember most clearly from the story, which I read multiple times as a child, is her desire to change from mermaid to woman so that she could live with the prince of her dreams. What seemed romantic to a younger me, now appears toxic.
Although the longing for belonging is an innate human need, it shouldn’t come at such a huge price. And while we all do need to find ways in which we can contribute and places where we feel like we belong, its important, I think, to do so without having to sacrifice who you are, your voice, and your identity.
In 360 Degrees of Wisdom, Lynda Hill writes that this symbol “shows a woman who has previously merely existed in the waters of life and is now ready to emerge into a more conscious existence as an individual in her own right.” She goes on to caution against “the seeking of perfection in one’s self through relationships. Be careful not to project too much authority onto your partner. This can lead to feelings of insecurity and being out of one’s depth.”
