Tarot spread and astro-tarot forecast for the September 2022 full moon in Pisces

The September 2022 full moon falls in the sign of Pisces. The Pisces archetype is highly intuitive and very open to the flow of creative imagination. This is the sign of creative dreamers and mystics and visionaries, which makes this full moon an excellent time to flex your intuitive and creative muscles.

Spiritually, the Pisces archetype teaches the principle of unity, of recognizing the divinity within you. One way to understand this principle is by looking at creation – the creator {God, Universe, Source, however you wish to name it} created this earth, the rivers and seas, the trees, birds, insects, animals, man. Similarly, man has the ability to create – and to create consciously. It is this ability that points to the spiritual truth of Pisces, that we are spiritual beings having a human experience {with the emphasis on our humanness in all its frailty and beauty}. It is by accepting responsibility for consciously creating – which isn’t always easy – that you connect most deeply with the creator. Needless to say, empathy and compassion are the cornerstones of the Pisces archetype.

The September 2022 full moon also highlights our feelings of self-worth and self-esteem. Our relationship to the things we value, the things we own, and the things we covet could come into sharp focus at this time.

What do we value and why. Who do we value. What do we want to pursue. These are some of the questions and themes that this Pisces full moon may stir up.

Astro-Tarot influences for the September 2022 full moon

To throw some more light on the September full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Pisces full moon falls in decan 2, which is represented by the 9 of Cups. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with The Moon, which is associated with Pisces.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck

I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.

Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.

There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.

Looking at these cards, my eye is drawn to the bared teeth of the dog as it looks up at the moon, and to the downward cast of the lips on the face of the woman in the moon. The dog’s bared teeth remind me of nothing so much as a grimace of confusion and apprehension. A sense of something as yet not fully known, but that gnaws away at the back of the mind.

It’s easy, in situations such as these, to feel a bit like a dog with a bone, constantly worrying away at a problem, circling around it without a solution in sight. And yet, The Moon is also a card of mystery and magic, of intuition and emotions. A reminder that while our hubris may convince us that we can worry our way to a solution, more often that not, solutions present themselves almost unexpectedly. Which is where the sage advice to sleep over your troubles probably stems from — a reminder, then, to let go of your problems, your confusions, the thing that has been gnawing away at the inside of your brain. Sleep on it, give it over to God or the Universe or Source for a while. And in the morning, while you may or may not have an eureka moment, you will certainly have a fresher, calmer mind that will, perhaps, be better able to find some solution to the problems that confound you.

But in the midst of this confusion and apprehension, there is hope.

One of my favorite quotes, which is still pinned up on the study desk in my childhood home, reads: There was never a night or a problem that could defeat sunrise or hope. That little phrase has been a catechism through many a confounding problem. Just like the dawn inevitably dispels that darkest of nights, hope does eventually blossom in the human heart — hard won, despairing, or sudden though it sometimes may be.

This symbol indicates receiving important messages or spiritual insights, and having the discernment to know who is worth listening to and who is not. It points too, to groups that gather together, united in a common cause.

In 360 Degrees of Wisdom: The Sabian Oracle, Linda Hill writes, “The symbolism of the ‘Huge Tent’ can represent many things; it can be a school hall, a church, a circus tent, an outdoor arena all the way up to something such as the worldwide web.”

In more practical terms, therefore, this symbol serves a reminder to use your better judgement when it comes to determining the teachers and leaders you listen to, and to carefully discern the ideas and rules by which you live your life.

In lieu of journaling prompts, here’s a slight variation on a freewriting exercise for the full moon in Pisces.

Take a few deep breaths so that you are fully present in your body, and in the present moment. Take a few moments to think of something that is troubling you, or something that you need an answer to. Set a timer for 10-15 minutes, and start writing. If you have no pressing questions at this time, you can simply set an intention to receive a message from your higher self.
