Tarot spread and astro-tarot forecast for the November 2022 new moon in Sagittarius

The November 2022 new moon falls in the sign of Sagittarius. The freedom loving Sagittarius archetype is in a constant search for inspiration, new avenues of exploration, and adventure. This is a sign that gets bored of the status quo easily, and needs the rush of a new quest to keep them on their toes.

Spiritually, the Sagittarius archetype teaches us to cultivate our own personal relationship with the divine. Contrary to what most religions and a lot of spiritual teachers say, you don’t need an intermediary between you and Source/God/the Universe. You have that connection available to you at all times. Learning to tune in and trust that connection is where a lot of us seem to stumble, though.

This new moon also highlights our sense of self-worth and self-esteem, which are intrinsically tied to our finances and our emotions. With the year beginning to wind down to a close, this new moon offers a good time to reflect on the ways in which our sense of self worth — and our values — may have changed. What is our emotional landscape looking like? Have our financial needs been met? Are we lending comfort where it is needed – to ourselves, our loved ones, and within our communities, more broadly? These are some areas to examine during this new moon cycle.

Astro-tarot forecast for the new moon in Sagittarius

To throw some more light on the November new moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Sagittarius new moon falls in decan 1, which is represented by the Eight of Wands. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with Temperance, which is associated with Sagittarius.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck

I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.

Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.

There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.

This new moon is bookended between the end of eclipse season and before the solstice. Eclipses are almost always highly transformative, and the period just before the solstice tends to have a rather reflective flavor. A state that is clearly reflected in the fast-moving energy of the 8 of Wands and the meditative stillness of Temperance.

The best way that I can describe the energy of this Sagittarius new moon is that it will help us find peace in the chaos. This is a concept that lies at the heart of Zen Buddhism: the world and all its suffering is a constant. Remaining centered and calm through it all helps us navigate tumultuous waters with much more ease.

This is easier said than done, of course. Most of us tend to give in to panic and anxiety; we tend to feel overwhelmed and tired and disoriented from all the things. It’s normal, and natural. What Zen Buddhist philosophy can teach us {as I’m sure many other paths can, as well} is to find a point of stillness within it all.

When we can find that point even in the midst of panic, it can bring a clarity of vision that makes it easier for us to discern the next tiny step, and the next, and the next. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does, it feels like a moment of grace.

Luckily for us, this is a state that can be learnt. A regular centering practice, meditation, breath work, or a creative practice are some of the tools that can help us enhance our capacity for stillness, and bridge the gap between anxiety and the calm center that is necessary to take aligned + inspired action.

So it is with this new moon: the currents are fast and rapid. Insights, messages, action, plans — it could all come at you fast and thick. Stuck and stagnant energy could get unblocked in a sudden whoosh. Your creativity could skyrocket. You may feel like an energizer bunny, raring to start all of your neglected projects.

In the midst of all of this exciting energy, don’t forget to make lists, take notes, write things down {even the things you’re sure you won’t forget}, and ground yourself. Because when that energy fizzles off, your lists and notes will help you clear out the fatigue and brain fog, and enable you to continue to take long-term action towards the things you put into motion during this new moon.

This symbol reminds me of something I heard a very long time ago — the ocean may appear rough and choppy, but the deep sea is mostly calm and still. Such an apt metaphor and symbol for the energy of this Sagittarius new moon!

In 360 Degrees of Wisdom: The Sabian Oracle, Lynda Hill writes, “The day-to-day experiences of life can create a “quick wind” which can blow out of control if things get overheated or overstated. Because these experiences take up a lot of space in our current thoughts, they seem to be more important than they really are. In essence, they are really only passing by… The effect, however, can play havoc with your emotions and can create some storms of their own…[but] Things have a deeper sense of strength and permanence than they seem on the surface. Whether your situation contains difficult components, or whipped up and excited ones, the truth of the matter is that the foundations of your life are much more settled and the surface emotional distress is probably just misleading matters. Staying anchored to what is true, permanent and stable in your life can help you get through whatever has been churned up.”

Sound advice for staying grounded during this time!
