Tarot spread and astrology and tarot forecast for the October 2025 full moon in Aries

The October 2025 full moon falls in the sign of Aries. The Aries archetype is known for its bold – often rash – action, for going where angels fear to tread. As the first sign of the zodiac, it represents the active core of our spiritual journey on earth, and teaches us to act in accordance with our ideals. The Aries archetype teaches us to be unafraid to march to our own drumbeat, to assert our willpower towards the attainment of our desires, and to embrace beginner’s mind and the innate trust and explosive power {conviction + action} that is needed to start something new.

Spiritually, the Aries archetype teaches us about action. And as most of us know, it’s easier to talk about the things we want to do than to put in the work and actually do the thing! Aries teaches us that courage is the key to unlocking the full potential of this spiritual principle. And that comes from connecting your head to your heart, focusing your will, and taking consistent action towards your dreams.

This full moon also highlights our creativity and creative expression, and directs our attention towards the activities and pursuits that bring us joy.

There’s also a certain fieriness to this full moon, which can help us break through any limitations or shackles that have kept us stuck or limited in any way. If we can bring our creativity or creative problem solving to bear on this endeavor, all the better.

Overall, though, there’s a playful, creative strand of energy running through this Aries full moon. Tapping into it by making time for creative pursuits, hobbies, or interests will help us navigate any harsher currents more easily around this time.

Astrology and tarot influences for the October 2025 full moon

To throw some more light on the October full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astrological and tarot influences of this lunation. The Aries full moon falls in Decan 2, which is ruled by the 3 of Wands. This is to be seen in conjunction with The Emperor, which is associated with Aries.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck

I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.

Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.

There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.

There’s a strong sense of forward momentum with this full moon, almost like something that was stuck has been shaken up and stirred. Take advantage of this upwelling of energy, and ground it in your creative pursuits if possible.

If there are projects or plans that you’ve long been considering, it’s time to put them into motion, strategically. Consider your resources, the tools you have at your disposal, and take a bold step into the unknown.

The time for dilly-dallying is past. It’s time to move forward. Baby steps are fine, as long as you continue to take small steps forward. If you’ve been spending too much time up in your head, it’s time to come back into your body and just begin — even if you don’t feel ready. Readiness, after all, comes from action, not from constant thinking and planning.

Every journey starts with a single step, as illustrated by the figure on the Three of Wands. They have their staff in hand, probably a knapsack to carry on the journey, as they await the ship that will carry them to the far shore. The energy of The Emperor guides them — his wisdom and strategy and sense of personal power lending them a sense of support.

So it is for you — what project or goal beckons you from the far shore? What might you carry in your knapsack as you move towards that goal? Know that you’re probably more ready than you think you are, and move forward with confidence.

Visionary Neptune is also active around this Aries full moon. Harness its energy by tuning into your intuition, and try to engage in ritual or meditation to keep a clear channel. Neptune’s energy can easily turn things foggy, playing up and highlighting our fears, most of which don’t have much basis in reality. Engaging in creative pursuits can help harness its more positive aspects at this time.

Ceres also lends its nurturing, comforting energy to this lunation. If things feel heavy, do something to soothe yourself — most of us have some tools in our tool box that can help us through emotionally difficult times.

Overall, this Aries full moon asks us to trust both our fire and our tenderness. To begin a new journey towards what calls us, and to nourish ourselves along the way. And to remember that the path unfolds as we walk it, with each action — no matter how small — we take.

Womanrunes for the October 2025 full moon in Aries

Every full moon, I will draw a Womanrune for us, as a theme, a learning, a focus point for the days until the next full moon rolls around. This month, I drew Rune 20: The Great Wheel. Rune of Infinity.

Sign up for the Numinous Stardust!

Step into the rhythm of the moon with original tarot spreads, astro-tarot forecasts, rituals and journaling prompts delivered to your inbox each Full Moon and New Moon.

The Great Wheel is a rune of patterns and the grand scope of life. It points to the cyclical nature of life and the lessons and patterns we brush up against at multiple points in our life’s journey.

There’s a myth that healing is linear, but this rune reminds us that it isn’t — it’s circular. What’s come into wholeness? What lesson is coming around again, with, perhaps, a new angle for you to consider? What pattern, what story are you living in — perhaps for the first time, perhaps once again?

What is coming into being for you? What is being completed? Do you feel a sense of yourself in the greater pattern of life?

If you’d like to delve deeper into this work, in understanding the patterns and archetypes that surround you, take a look at my new tarot workbook — Soul lines: Discover the Story Written in Your Birth Cards.

The Womanrunes were created by Shekhinah Mountainwater in 1987. There were originally no written interpretations available for these runes, other than the name and one word meanings, which offer tremendous scope for personal interpretation. The remastered original hand drawn Womanrunes can be purchased here. Molly Remer subsequently wrote Womanrunes: A Guide to Their Use and Interpretation, based on her own meditations and interpretations of the runes. Her book is available on Amazon and Etsy.
