March 2019: Tarot spread for the full moon in Libra

March 2019 full moon in Libra astrology and tarot spread

The March 2019 full moon rises in the sign of Libra. The Libra archetype is associated with balance, fair dealings, and relationships. Spiritually, the Libra archetype can teach us about balance…the ability to remain centered  in our authentic self no matter what is going on around us.

The March 2019 full moon highlights our health and well-being, as well as our daily routines and responsibilities. This is the time to take a look at where we are directing our time and energy, and to ensure we are creating routines and practices that support us on our journey and take us closer to our goals.

This full moon falls around the same time as the equinox, which represents the start of a new astrological year and a fresh new cycle. So the March full moon would also be an excellent time for an energetic reset.

Astro-Tarot influences for the March full moon

To throw some more light on the March full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Libra full moon falls in Decan 1, which is ruled by the 2 of Swords. This is to be seen in conjunction with Justice, which is associated with Libra.

The 2 of Swords can represent an unwillingness to see things for what they are; a closing off and hardening of the heart. But at its best, it can represent the ability to tune in to exactly what we need at this moment in time. To be mindful of our own desires and a reminder to look within ourselves for the answer. Justice represents the balancing of the scales in both our mundane physical lives as well as a karmic balance.

This, then, points to the importance of coming into balance. Of determining where in our lives we have been unbalanced. Of letting go of past hurts and situations and ways of being, and coming into alignment with our visions and goals. This includes aligning our actions for the achievement of our short term goals, and also understanding what changes we may need to implement now that will support us in the long term attainment of our desires.

Working with the moon

The full moon is a time of completion. The intentions that you set at the new moon are ready to be birthed into the world. The full moon illuminates the fruits of the work you’ve done towards achieving your new moon intention and to make any tweaks as necessary. This is a good time to release any negative emotions, habits, thoughts, beliefs and to look within and shift any blocks and old patterns that don’t serve you any more.

I tap into the energy of the full moon to call in and celebrate the sign’s qualities in myself; to release any related limiting beliefs; and to express gratitude for whatever is coming up.

  1. Interesting that you point out that “The Libra archetype is associated with balance, fair dealings, and relationships.” Today I was using my tarot deck and for the first time ever I got “The Lovers” I have a big smile on. 🙂 And I want to thank you for these questions, they are great ones to work with. Happy Spring!

  2. Balance has been on my mind a lot lately. Especially with scheduling my new blog, and setting time aside for writing, hiking, and streaming (gaming) so maybe this is a good thing for me right now. #ABloggingGoodTime

  3. I love watching the moon but have never thought of setting intentions when looking at the full moon. I’ll be sure to do that the next time. I’ve been struggling with low energy and organization.

    • Intentions are set at the new moon. The full moon is when things are “full” – it’s a good time for gratitude; to see what’s coming to fruition; to release anything that isn’t serving you; to see how you can tap into the qualities of the moon to move your goals/desires/dreams forward; and to bask in the beauty of the moon! 🙂

  4. This truly spoke to me, I think I could almost believe I was meant to read this on this day, right in this moment. I went to a workshop on Sunday about getting more in touch with living in alignment with our soul and listening to ourselves and asking the universe, or our guide for signs. I feel like reading this tapped into so much of what I am feeling now and questioning my direction and purpose. So glad you shared this #ABloggingGoodTime

    • Oh, then it is perfect time for you, indeed! I believe in synchronicity – it’s powerful when we notice the signs and act in accordance with what the universe and our guides are communicating with us. xx
