April 2019: Tarot spread for the full moon in Libra

Full moon in Libra tarot spread and astro-tarot forecast

The April 2019 full moon rises in the sign of Libra, again! This is quite a rare occurrence, to have two back to back full moons in the same sign. Think back to what happened around the March full moon Libra. Whatever started then, will culminate now, for both of these full moons are connected.

The Libra archetype is associated with balance, fair dealings, and relationships. Spiritually, the Libra archetype can teach us about balance…the ability to remain centered  in our authentic self no matter what is going on around us.

While the last Libra full moon asked us to focus on our rituals and routines and to align them to bring some balance in our lives, the April full moon asks us to bring balance with our relationships. And the key to this is focusing on our own self-worth and examining our life from a more personal perspective – what can be called a journey of individuation. It’s an ever spiraling journey, as we define and refine our meaning and purpose and come into right relationship with who we are and how we choose to shine our unique light in our interactions with  others.

Astro-Tarot influences for the April full moon

To throw some more light on the April full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Libra full moon falls in Decan 3, which is ruled by the 4 of Swords. This is to be seen in conjunction with Justice, which is associated with Libra.

The 4 of Swords represents mental exhaustion and points to the need to retreat and to rest. It warns, too, of the negative consequences of ignoring our mental health, especially during stressful times. Justice represents the balancing of the scales in both our mundane physical lives as well as a karmic balance.

This, then, points to the importance of maintaining equilibrium and peace. The importance of retreating, especially given the April full moon’s focus on questions of self-worth, is also highlighted here. For it is only by going within ourselves, into the stillness of our own heart, that we can answer the question of who we are and what gives our life meaning.

Working with the moon

The full moon is a time of completion. The intentions that you set at the new moon are ready to be birthed into the world. The full moon illuminates the fruits of the work you’ve done towards achieving your new moon intention and to make any tweaks as necessary. This is a good time to release any negative emotions, habits, thoughts, beliefs and to look within and shift any blocks and old patterns that don’t serve you any more.

I tap into the energy of the full moon to call in and celebrate the sign’s qualities in myself; to release any related limiting beliefs; and to express gratitude for whatever is coming up.
