Tarot reading and energy forecast for the collective for June 2020

Here’s your tarot reading and energy forecast for June 2020. I’m using the Wild Unknown Archetype cards to pull the theme or energy that we are being called to focus on as a collective this month, and two tarot cards from the Wild Unknown Tarot Deck to provide some additional guidance and clarity on how we can best use and understand the archetypal messages.

This tarot reading is particularly potent for the times we are in, as it points to a way out of the fear and shame spiral that the the unprecedented global pandemic pushed a lot of us into. Let’s get right into it.

Energy forecast for June 2020: The archetypal energy

June presents us with the archetype of The King. We see a palm held up authoritatively, with a wax seal on the palm and an emblem of sorts crowning the figures. This speaks of authority and stamps of approval; of external, enforced power

The colors are those of the lower three chakras – the root, sacral and solar plexus. These three chakras are all about being rooted firmly, confident, and secure in your own power. Some would say they are the chakras of the material world; the heart chakra is considered the bridge between the material and spiritual worlds.

But, coming back to the archetype of The King.

Since the lockdowns started to take effect around the world two months ago, we’ve been met with The Underworld and The Mystic. Having dealt with our deepest shadows and alchemised them, it’s time now to bring these lessons up into the material, mundane world.

The best way to look at and understand this archetype is through the lens of looking at our kingdom, which is to say our own life and the full spectrum of emotions, thoughts, choices, and actions that govern it.

It is through the lens of The King that we are being invited to look over our lives. To see what is working for us and what isn’t; to determine where things are out of whack and where they may need to be streamlined; and then to take action accordingly.

This ability to rule your life – which isn’t to say that you have to try and control everything and make everything work like clockwork, but to understand that you do have – to a very large extent – control over your thoughts and actions and can bring them to balance – is what we are being asked to remember.

A lot of us fell apart during the pandemic, allowing our fears to rule over us. Now it is time to stand up and take control of ourselves, our lives, and our responses once again. Yes, the uncertainty remains, but then life has always been uncertain. It just hasn’t been this apparent before.

We are being asked to make a choice – to let our fear continue to dominate us, or to once again take charge of our lives.

One other aspect that is worth pointing out. A lot of people may believe that the archetype of The King is egoic, but that isn’t so. Some of the best and most well-loved Kings have been those who have served with grace and humility. So that is something to consider as well – when you look over your life, the choices you’ve made in the last few months, and reflect on the path you wish to take forward, be gentle with yourself.

Bringing it down from the archetypal realm and anchoring the energy into the mundane human world is the story that is being told by the 6 of Pentacles and The Father of Swords, which in other tarot decks would be the King of Swords. Don’t you just love such synchronicities?

The 6 of Pentacles had presented itself in April, when we were dealing with the shadowy Underworld. As I had said then, this time…this pandemic…is presenting us with new opportunities. If you look back at April, what were the themes that were predominant in your life? How have they shaped your “pandemic experience”?

There’s no doubt that our lives and circumstances have changed pretty drastically in 2020. What are the fruits of those changes?

Some of us have moved to working remotely; some have lost jobs; most businesses have shut down, some permanently. All of these things create significant upheaval. Some of them can be downright terrifying and also bring feelings of shame and grief.

The fact is that we cannot stay with those feelings forever. We have to find ways to get up and get a move on. This can look like many different things. I know of people who are trying to get their businesses online, of others who are thinking fast and adapting to the current situation as best as they can. Some are using this time to hone different skills and areas of interest. Others I know are contemplating a move away from big cities, to places that are quieter, less stressful, and cheaper to live in.

The challenge here is for us to take control of our thoughts instead of letting them control us. To be able to root in to our own personal power, to look at the situation as it presents itself to us, and to make decisions and choices from a place of strength and clarity.

We are the creators of our own life. When our minds are clear and strong, we can shape our destiny. We can get up and try again; adapt and change track as necessary; but for that, we need to have our minds in the game.

And that is the work for June. How can you be The King – or the director – of your own life?

I hope this tarot and energy forecast for June 2020 resonated with you on some level. If you have any a-ha moments or anything you’d like further clarity on, just drop a comment below.

  2. Very interesting analysis using the King in such a pragmatic way Shinjini. I liked how you have concluded about kings that have ruled well and vast.

I hope we all adapt well to the situation at hand and not allow it to sink further down.
