Plus some journaling questions, an astro-tarot forecast, exploration of the the Sabian symbol, and additional resources for the full moon in Capricorn.

The June 2021 full moon falls in the sign of Capricorn. Symbolized by the mountain goat, which maintains perfect balance while it climbs over precarious rock ledges, the Capricorn archetype is one of disciplined and dogged determination towards the attainment of our worldly desires.
Spiritually, the Capricorn archetype teaches us about integrity and helps us to harness the ability to plan our work, and stick to it, no matter what. In these times of 24×7 consumption culture, it’s easy to be addicted with shiny object syndrome and forget about our goals and plans. Capricorn teaches us about the meaning of integrity: to align ourselves with our highest ideals and actualize our potential.
Since we’ve recently come out of eclipse season, things may still feel a bit topsy-turvy. This Capricorn full moon offers us the space to rest, reflect, and regroup. This eclipse season may have shaken up a lot of energy – stirring up how we balance work and rest, and bringing us face to face with who we really are and what we really want. This month, mamma moon offers us a chance to regroup and take stock of who we are, and how we can be true to our ideals.
Astro-tarot influences for the Capricorn full moon
To throw some more light on the June full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Capricorn full moon falls in decan 1, which is represented by the Two of Pentacles. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with The Devil, which is associated with Capricorn.
The 2 of Pentacles is related to career and finances, and illustrates the balancing act that often goes into managing both work and money. It also represents the juggling of a number of priorities and trying to keep many balls up in the air. The Devil is a card of illusions and materialism. Of feeling trapped in negative cycles of behavior without realizing that it is in our power to break free of them.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck
I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.
Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.
There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.
If you look at the 2 of Pentacles, you can’t help but notice the infinity symbol that connects the 2 coins in the juggler’s hands. It reminds me of the constant ebb and flow that we experience at every step of our journey – material resources, energy, attention, health, even our very breath – in and out, ebb and flow.
This is such an integral part of life, and yet we are constantly looking for an imagined utopia, a perfection, of everything aligned together in perfect harmony. Moments like those are fleeting and rare. What’s more common is this messy human life. And yet, we seem to be in a constant war against the mess.
The Devil gets a bad rap too as one of the bad boys of the tarot. Look how he has enslaved those two humans with his thick chains, leading them on the path of overindulgence and sin. But those chains that bind us to The Devil can easily be lifted. Look closely – they will slip right off over our head! And yet we stay there – tied to temptation.
But, have you considered that the thing you’re struggling so hard against isn’t something that you really want to change? Perhaps it’s something that has been ingrained into you, but deep down, it just doesn’t matter to you? Or maybe it’s social conditioning that has you feeling tied down in chains? Or maybe you’ve become so used to the chains that you don’t realize you can remove them whenever you wish.
If you’ve ever seen an elephant chained to a post, the chain that binds it is so thin that the elephant could break free with a single tug of its leg. But it has been conditioned to believe it cannot break the chain. When the elephant was a young calf, its chains were much sturdier. Try as it might, they wouldn’t break. As it grows up, even the lightest chain is enough to keep it tied up. It won’t try to break free.
But, as human beings, what distinguishes us is our capacity to think differently. More often than not, removing chains, or recognising that what you thought was a chain is just a part of what makes you who you are, is a simple matter of a perspective shift.
And maybe what we need to recognise is that ebb and flow between what really binds us and what can set us free.

This symbol reminds me of group dynamics and how it is reflective of the many different viewpoints and stories that each individual contributes to the larger group.
There’s a sense of shared purpose, as well as a recognition of group dynamics – there will always be the leaders and followers, workers and shirkers, the ones who criticise and those who act as peacemakers.
But if these groups of people manage to cooperate with one another, the journey is much smoother and successful.
Much in the same way, there are different aspects of your personality that need to work together in relative harmony if you’re to make progress on your goals.
